The TC Engineering Billet Tong is specially designed for safe handling of billets in multiple sizes from casting pit to lay down position. Through a number of systems supplied over the last 17 years, this system have proved to be both efficient and reliable.

Safety

The TC billet handling system have proved to be extremely reliable in operation. The system have several safety systems built into the hydraulic system. Pressure force is two times the design load. The system have four cylinders each equipped with a safety valve. In addition the system have automatic restart by pressure drops.

Design

The billet tong may be adapted to fit to any casting pit and diametre range.  The standard version takes billets with a diametre from 100 to 400 mm and weight up to 20 tons. Special designs are made to handle other sizes or twin rows.
